Upper Blepharoplasty with Mini-Incision Methods

Upper Blepharoplasty with Mini-incision Mthods

Surgery Features

Make an incision of 0.55mm at the center and suture the wound. For the remaining part, use embedded needle stitches to form a double eyelid.

1. The wound is small; therefore, the recovery is speedy.

2. Remove redundant fat through a mini wound.

3. Retain more normal eyelid skin to reduce pain.

4. There is no risk of suture detachment.

5. The scar is small; therefore, it is suitable for those whose physical constitution is prone to scarring.

Surgical Approach

Through a sophisticated microscopy technique, several incisions measuring 0.5mm are made on the eyelid in a discontinuous fashion. A surgical instrument is then used to penetrate the subcutaneous tissue and pull it to the sides. Suture fixation is performed on the tarsal plate to create the double eyelid effect.

Suitable Targets of Upper Blepharoplasty with Mini-incision Methods

1. Those with thinner eyelids.

2. Those whose eyelids are not sagging.

3. Those with more fat on the upper eyelids.

Precautions

1. Unable to remove sagging and redundant eyelid skin.

2. In case of wound pain after the anesthesia wears out, strengthen cold press within three days after surgery to reduce swelling expansion. Apply cold press for 15 minutes several times a day (other than during sleep). Painkillers may also be taken to alleviate the discomfort.

3. Apply warm press staring the fourth day after surgery. Apply it 2-4 times a day and for 30 minutes each time to help the swelling to subside.

4. Refrain from tobacco, spirits, tea, coffee, chilies, herbal medicine (such as Granoderma lucidum), and other blood-activating and irritating foods.

5. The slight swelling and bruising after surgery can be improved after about a week.

6. Preform eye opening and closing movements two days after surgery to help the swelling to subside.

7. There is no need to cover the wound with gauze after surgery. Apply anti-inflammatory ointment.

8. Wear sunglasses when out to block sunlight, wind, and dust from irritating the wound.

9. Clean the wound with a sterile cotton swab and saline solution. Apply anti-inflammatory ointment three times a day. Do not allow the wound to be in contact with tap water to avoid infections.

10. There may be slight bruising and swelling around the eyes after surgery. There is no need to panic. Do not bow your head for an extended period of time and reduce water intake and foods that are rich in sodium to facilitate blood backflow and improve swelling.

11. There may be itchiness prior to wound healing. Do not rub the wound using your hands.

12. Return to the clinic for suture removal after about seven days.

13. Return to the clinic for follow-up tracking one month after surgery.
