♦Chin Augmentation Surgery

Chin augmentation surgery is usually divided into two types: mandibular bone argumentation surgery and chin padding augmentation surgery.

Mandibular bone argumentation surgery is suitable for people with a short and retracted chin; chin padding augmentation surgery is suitable for people with chin retraction. An incision under the mandible or inside the mouth is place for the chin model to be placed in a suitable location.The chin model type and placement location will depend on the height of the nose and the facial features.

♦The Chin padding mode can be divided into:

1. If your chin is not out of shape that it is only slightly retracted or shorter, silicon chin padding can achieve good results.

2.If you suffer from congenital Pierre Robin Complex or obvious chin retraction, or if you have an excessively small chin without an angle, artificial chin padding may be used to create natural results.

♦Type

Male-The U shape is the most suitable as it expresses personality. The V shape prdouces a reserved disposition, lacking in masculinity. The lower lip should be slightly thicker than the upper lip, with the ratio of about 1:1.5. Make an incision about 1-2cm below the oral cavity near the alveolar mucosa. Create a space below the periosteum and place the silicon chin or artificial bone chin whose size had been previously determined before surgery. After confirming the location and length, use absorbable suture to suture the muscle and mucosa and complete the surgery. The wound inside the oral cavity normally requires no suture removal, but if it is not absorbed, suture removal should be done after 10-14 days. After surgery, fixate the external skin using tape for several days to prevent displacement or skew.
